FAQ’s
Here are answers to some of the most common questions we’re asked about our challenge days.
How fit do participants need to be?
Fitness is not the focus of a Holdfast Challenge. The emphasis is on mindset, teamwork, and shared effort.
All fitness levels are welcome, and activities are adapted to suit the group. Participants do not need to be strong swimmers. When in the water, everyone wears fully buoyant O’Three wetsuits and is supported by experienced instructors at all times.
What should participants bring?
Participants should bring:
-
A towel
-
Light gym clothing or a swimming costume
-
Swim shorts or suitable sports shorts
All specialist equipment, including wetsuits and safety gear, is provided.
What does the challenge involve?
Participants are placed into small teams on arrival and guided through a structured series of challenges on land and in the water.
Each activity is designed to encourage communication, leadership, and problem-solving, while gently testing individuals and teams both mentally and physically. Regular breaks are built in between activities, allowing time for hydration, reflection, and team discussion.
The experience is inclusive, supportive, and carefully facilitated throughout.
How long does the challenge last?
The duration depends on group size:
-
Groups of up to 35 participants should allow approximately 4 to 5 hours
-
Larger groups should allow up to 6 hours
This includes arrival, briefing, changing, the challenge itself, post-challenge changing, and a closing debrief or presentation.
How will participants feel afterwards?
Participants typically leave feeling energised, positive, and proud of what they have achieved together.
The experience is designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and leave teams with a shared sense of achievement and lasting memories that carry back into the workplace.
For many, this will be a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity an incredible, awesome journey that reshapes perspectives on leadership, trust, and purpose. The Hold Fast Challenge is more than an event; it is a catalyst for personal and organisational transformation. Any business serious about developing high‑performing, values‑driven teams will find this to be a genuinely life‑enhancing experience.
